Do you too have French Canadien Ancestors lured out of Canada to come and work for or in the Copper mines in the U. P. of Michigan?
One of the Copper Mines was in Baltic, MI. My ancestor Joseph Sylvestre came to the U.P. as a carpenter to place the wood beam to hold the walls and ceiling inside the mines.
looks to me like a very scary job.
