Putman Family Quandary
Using
Family Search I found a Dora Putman/Dolenson, on her marriage record in 1903 to
George Wallace, with her parents listed as John Putman & Marilla
Cooke. I have not found a birth record
for a Dora Putman born to a John Putman & Marilla Cooke. Do you know who this Dora Putman is?
I
also found Dora Putman in the 1880 census in Ionia Michigan working as a
servant. Her daughter Pearl Putman is
also living in the Wallace household.
If
Dora is not a daughter of John & Marilla Putman then why would she have put
them as her parents on the Marriage certificate?
On the above mentioned marriage certificate the witnesses of the marriage are a Mrs Pearl Stearns & Ormond Donelson.
