Play Toys of our Ancestors

Imagine if our childrens toys would still be so simple as the stick & stone.

ancient toy, ancestor toys, toys in society, play objects, drama play time, copy adults with toys, toy, ancient times
However as each generation has come along toys have either become more sophisticated or simplified.

How quickly the sticks and stones were fashioned into adult style play items for children.

Did you get to inheriate any of your ancestors toy?
I wonder have old of a toy some one had inherited through the years?

Toys could make play alot funner for some.

Then that Christmas when my 1 year old niece Amanda was so happy playing in a box.

Lake Erie from Ohio point of View

Lake Erie

David Putman, Lake Erie Ship Wrecks, Ancestry, Familylore, research, Great lakes, Family Fun
Lake Erie is one of the Great Lakes and currently serves as part of Ohio's northern boundary. During the 1700s and 1800s, Lake Erie provided a quick means of transportation for men engaged in the fur trade as well as settlers hoping to improve their fortunes in the Ohio Country. Its importance grew during the 1810s and the 1820s as Americans began to build canals. The completion of the Erie Canal, connecting the Hudson River in New York with Lake Erie, provided the first navigable water route from the Atlantic Ocean to the upper Midwest. This allowed farmers in Ohio a relatively quick and inexpensive route to transport their products to market. Cleveland quickly grew and became one of the leading industrial centers of Ohio thanks to its location on Lake Erie.

Christmas (m and f): Over time, the U.S. census has enumerated a number of people with the first name Christmas, both male and female. Most likely, the majority were born on or near Christmas Day. In 1790, there was one person listed in the census named Christmas:

Christmas Hunt of Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
In 1850, there were 37 people named Christmas; in 1880, 125 people; in 1910, 308 people; and, in 1940, there were 95 people named Christmas.

Traditional Thanksgiving

Family Time

Who do you have over on Thanksgiving?  Where are you invited to?  Where do you go if you have more then one invatation?

Many questions this seasons gives us.  How to you choose?  Is it easy to choose?

How about the extra people you would like to include.  When do you ask to have them added to the guest list.  Are you frazzled if someone comes you were not expecting if your the one hosting the dinner?

Good Luck

Tell your Families Story

Have you heard family lore from your Parents, Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts or Cousins ?

I did.  Sometimes it was my desire to know more about what I had heard which led me to research. I really wanted to find out if the information was correct or not.

Everyone has a family history story to tell whats yours?  Also in your search have you found names of others involved that you did not hear about?  What uniqueness does your family have?  Can you find proof?  Were you able to share your findings with the one who told the story?  Are you happy with what you found?

Get ready share the proved story.  Write it up. Sent a letter to others who know about it via what ever way you choose.  You can blog about it.  Tweet it. Send it to the local newspaper of where it occurred [one easy way to have your family history reach all those possible cousins etc.] they should be happy to add it in their paper.

To me its not a story if its not shared. Hey it might even help break a brick wall down. Share your Story!
